Throughout 2025, ReHolz participated in a series of architectural forums across Indonesia engaging in conversations that go beyond products and projects. From Surabaya, Bali, and Jakarta, these events became platforms to reflect on how architecture is evolving, how public spaces are redefined, and how material choices shape the longevity of design.
Rather than presenting finished answers, ReHolz joined these discussions as part of a broader architectural dialogue one that considers history, movement, and the pressing issues shaping the future of the built environment.
Anakata Design Series – Surabaya, July 2025
Hosted in Surabaya, the Anakata Design Series explored the theme “Diversity in Highrise and Commercial Building.” Speakers including Prasetyoadi ( PDW Architects ), Topang Ursada ( Tata Matra Indonesia ), and Wilson Harkhono ( WHA Studio ) shared perspectives on how urban density, mixed-use programs, and commercial architecture have transformed over time.

Within this context, ReHolz reflected on the evolution of highrise and commercial design particularly the growing practice of repurposing existing building to extend their lifecycle and reduce environmental impact. The discussion emphasized that sustainability is no longer only about new construstion, but about how architecture adapts, reuses, and remains relevant.

Project references such as RS Hermina Ibu Kota Nusantara, Grand Al Jabbar Mosque, Bank Indonesia Plaza, and various commercial developments illustrated how public and semi-public spaces have become increasingly experimental embracing material innovation while prioritizing durability and long-term performance.

What emerged was a shared understanding : public architecture today is no longer static. It is evolving, layered, and open reinterpretation.
Anakata Design Fest – Bali, October 2025
In Denpasar Bali, Anakata Design Fest gathered a diverse group of architects and designers under the theme “Movement.” Speakers from various practices including Kousu Inc., Blancostudio, Atelier GVD, 2M Design Lab, SAMMA Studio, Tamara Wibowo Architects, mamostudio, Studio Tana, smallprojects, and Jeghier Architect approached movement not as physical motion, but as energy, narrative, and intention within space.

ReHolz’s contribution centered on “Movement: Beyond Building.” The discussion explored how architecture carries stories across generations, and how material plays a critical role in preserving those narratives. Referencing enduring design icons such as the Eames Chair. ReHolz highlighted the importance of material quality where comfort, performance, and longevity are inseparable.

Here, movement was understood as continuity: how well-designed spaces and materials age, adapt, and remain meaningful over time.
Anakata Fest – Jakarta, December 2025

Closing the year in Jakarta, Anakata Fest brought together international and regional voices including Go Hasegawa, Ekaphap Duangkaew, and Antony Liu, moderated by Wendy Djuhara, under the theme “The Issue.”

This session addressed the curent challenges facing the architectural industry from enviromental responsibility and accessibility to technological shifts and changing social needs. ReHolz shared its perspective on possible reponses, including biophilic architecture, adaptive reuse, inclusive design, collaboration with AI and emerging technologies, and greater awarness of material and technological impact.

Beyond theory, ReHolz also reflected on the realities behind architectural delivery from project coordination and factory processes to on-site installation highlighting the importance of collaboration, craftsmanship, and consistency across every stage of a project.
Across these events, a common thread emerged: architecture today is not defined by form alone, but by how it evolves, how it moves people, and how it responds to real-world issues.

For ReHoz, 2025 was not just about participation, but about listening, exchanging ideas, and contributing to conversations that shape the future of architecture. As public spaces become more experimental and expectations on sustainbility and performance grow, material choice and the thinking behind the matter more than ever.
